Fish Potato Cutlet

This is my yummy tasty fish potato cutlet which I have "recycled" from left over steamed fish. Great thing to do, no wastage as I have converted it into a yummy dish for all to enjoy. I used to buy fish potato cutlet from Lotus Restaurant (a famous indian cuisine restaurant in KL) as I love the aromatic spice in it. I love it so much and now I have recreate a close to similar recipe and now can enjoy it at home... :)) So it is a home cook fish potato cutlet.... the difference is more fish meat than potatoes as compared to the commercial ones. I find it simple and easy to prepare and happily everyone in the family love it.

All you need : make 12 pcs

  • 1 medium size fish (any fish that has plenty of flesh) - steam
  • 4 large potatoes - boiled n mashed up
  • 2 onions - chopped
  • 1 sprig spring onion
  • 2 Tbs curry powder
  • 1 Tbs turmeric powder
  • dash of pepper, salt
  • 1 egg
  • some cornflour - for coating before frying

Simple Process

  • Get started by steaming the fish and let it cool, debone and set aside the fish meat
  • Boil the potatoes and mashed it up
  • Put all together in a large bowl - fish meat, mashed potatoes, chopped onions, chopped spring onions, curry powder, turmeric powder, salt, pepper and beat in the 1 egg and mixed it all up into a "dough" like
  • Pat some cornflour on your palm and make small flat round pieces from the mixture
  • Heat the wok with some oil over medium heat, coat the fish cutlet with cornflour and fry till golden brown, drained the oil
  • Ready to Serve

Happy Trying and Enjoy A Simple Dish!
